Halloween Costume 2008

Mah costume for this year. It was inspired by Lady Van Tassel's first gown in Sleepy Hollow.
I made pretty much everything you see in the photo: the gown, the stays, and ze bum roll. The chemise was bought several years ago and will be worn until I create a suitable replacement.
I was planning to make a true-to-the-original reproduction but unfortunately because of time constraints I had to take HUGE liberties. I actually spent the entire night before putting finishing touches on it; all in all, I probably got one hour of sleep. The end result isn't too bad but since now I have a full year, I'm gonna work on improving it.
On the plus side, I've inspired several of my classmates to go see the Duchess!
Speaking of, me thinks i'm gonna recreate Mina's red gown from Dracula!
